Thoracic Back Pain

Thoracic 回来 pain happens in the middle and upper part of the 回来.

原因

The 回来 has many small 骨头, muscles, and soft tissues that surround and protect the spinal cord. Nerves also leave the spinal cord in the 回来. Thoracic 回来 pain may be 导致d by stress, strain, or injury to any of these structures, such as:

  • Muscle strains
  • Ligament sprains
  • Gradual wear and tear of tissue
  • Fractures of the vertebra (spinal 骨头)
  • Nerve compression—pressure on nerves that exit the spine may be 导致d by problems with muscles, 骨头, or disc between vertebra
  • A herniated disc—damage to cushions that sit between the vertebra
  • An imbalance of muscles that support the spine

很少, thoracic 回来 pain may be 导致d by more serious problems like an infection in the spine, heart or lung problems, 或癌症.

Things that may raise the risk of thoracic 回来 pain are:

  • 创伤
  • Activities or jobs that require sitting for long periods of time
  • Repetitive motion

The symptoms a person has and how long they last depend on the 导致. Problems may come and go or happen all the time.

Problems with muscle or soft tissue may 导致:

Pictures may be taken for pain that is severe or not going away. This can be done with:

Any underlying 导致s will need to be treated. The goal of treatment is to ease symptoms to give the 回来 time to heal. 治疗s may include:

  • Resting the 回来 for 1 to 2 days
  • Limiting activities that 导致 pain
  • Medicine to ease pain, such as over the counter pain medicine and muscle 松弛剂
  • Physical therapy to help with strength, flexibility, and range of motion

Most people are not helped by surgery.

预防

To lower the risk of thoracic 回来 pain:

  • Engage in regular physical activity to keep the 回来 strong and flexible.
  • Do not sit for long periods of time.
  • Practice good posture to ease pressure on the 回来.
  • Use proper methods when playing sports.
  • Use proper form when lifting objects.
