Residents have the opportunity to participate in aeromedical flights during their first year of residency.

Locally, many of our physicians serve as medical directors for local EMS and Fire services. In Onondaga and adjacent counties, we work hand-in-hand with local EMS organizations training Emergency Medical Personnel. At the New York State Fairgrounds, we developed an Alternative Emergency Site that is used to provide medical care for those in need during the Fair; it also serves as a surge-capacity facility for major disasters; and, serves as a training location for live response exercises.

Our outreach efforts extend overseas with our medical personnel exchange of physicians and nurses and training programs with China. Over 80 physicians from China have participated over the past 16 years. We also offer international experience electives to residents.
